Rinat Akhmetov Foundation delivers aid to war-torn Novoselivka Persha in Donetsk region

16.04.2024

The frontline is approaching here fast. There is no place left to live in this part of the Donetsk region: it is a complete ruin and the sound of explosions. However, some places have inscriptions on the gate: "People live here!". Despite the great danger and risks, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has delivered essential food packages to the residents of Novoselivka Persha.

"Many thanks to Rinat Akhmetov for not forgetting about us. He gives us the opportunity to survive. He remains a human being. This is the most important thing," says a resident who stays here because of her elderly grandmother. Each of the residents has their own reason for being here.

The humanitarian aid packages are being unloaded in the building where a shop used to be. Volunteer Mykola Osychenko, the Foundation's ambassador and Head of Mariupol TV, says people will pick them up at a relatively safer moment.

Each package contains long-term storage products: pasta, sugar, salt, flour, cereals, canned beans, sunflower oil, stewed meat, pate and biscuits.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Foundation has sent more than 348,000 food packages to residents of the Donetsk region and those who have temporarily evacuated from the region.

Since 2014, the Foundation has provided 13 million food packages to Ukrainians. Over this time, more than 18 million people have benefited from the assistance provided by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, SCM businesses and Shakhtar Football Club.

The assistance is provided under the Rinat Akhmetov Saving Lives programme.
