During my time at Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center, I met a lot of men and women and also worked with thousands of volunteers. These people started changing in a quite noticeable way - all the put-on things were disappearing. In a state of severe stress caused by military actions in Donbas, they showed their best qualities: mercy, kindness, responsiveness. I have not seen a single volunteer who would come to help the Center under constraint. It always was of their own free will, their need to be useful to those who were in trouble. READ MORE

The mission that has become history: an exhibition of the Humanitarian Center was opened in Mariupol

On January 22 in the historical Museum of Ilyich Mariupol Metallurgical Plant an exhibition, dedicated to the activities of the largest humanitarian mission in Ukraine – Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center, was opened. This is the first of six permanent exhibitions to be presented in the museums of the SCM Group enterprises. The exhibition tells about the people who, having forgotten about themselves, not sparing themselves, have been helping Donbas civilians, who found themselves in the zone of military conflict, for more than three years. It is about the most difficult and tragic days that the volunteers have managed to survive. It is about the unique role of the Humanitarian Center in the history of Ukraine. READ MORE

Targeted Assistance: 12 years of mercy

“Targeted Assistance” is one of the first large-scale programs of Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, which has been operating for 12 years already. The main principle of its work is to help here and now, and the main priority is to provide assistance when it comes to life and health of children. With the outbreak of hostilities in the east of the country, over 50,000 people received the assistance. The 309th convoy of the Humanitarian Center arrived in Mariupol

Healthy heart for 35 children

Only half of children with congenital heart disease in Ukraine receive timely medical care. 4.5 thousands of such children in our country are born with heart defects annually. 600-700 babies are born in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Thanks to the installation of the occluder - a special device that allows to close the ventricular septum in the heart, the children of Donbas have a chance to return to a full, healthy life.
