«Rehabilitation of Injured Children 2017» – the project of Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center

A year ago, in March 2016, the Humanitarian Center started a project called "Rehabilitation of Injured Children". During this period 58 Donbas children, who had serious injuries and shrapnel wounds, underwent rehabilitation. During the online conference at Segodnya Multimedia, the Center's Coordinator Rimma Fil and the Head of "Targeted Assistance" direction Yuliia Gerasymenko told about further implementation of the project. Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center continues providing assistance in government-controlled areas of Donbas. In March the Center's mobile volunteers will visit 34 settlements. Volunteers will deliver and issue 11,500 food packages. The aid is aimed at the most vulnerable categories of population – elderly and disabled people, single parents and families with many children. The situation around the blockade of the Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center and infrastructure facilities of FC Shakhtar in Donetsk and in the non-government controlled area

The operations of the Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center have been blocked by some gunmen in the non-government controlled area of Donetsk Oblast. The Center has no access to Donbass Arena or distribution points. The director of the Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center Aleksandr Vishnyakov, director of FC Shakhtar Sergey Palkin, and coordinator of the Humanitarian Center Rimma Fil talked about the situation during a joint press briefing. Statement of the Humanitarian Center about blocking of its operation in non-government-controlled areas

Due to the fact that the operation of distribution centre at Donbas Arena and all aid issuing points of Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center in non-government-controlled areas is being blocked by armed people, the Center has no access to the premises, equipment and humanitarian aid. The Humanitarian Center, DTEK and Metinvest keep on providing consistent and prompt assistance to Donbas on both sides of the contact line. By order of Rinat Akhmetov they united their resources to help civilian population in the areas of active hostilities.
