“The Sanatorium Is Very Good, and We Have Got a Result”: Seriously Injured Resident of Kramatorsk Underwent a Rehabilitation Course Organized by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation

Natalia Mushka, a taxi driver from Kramatorsk, barely survived after the terrible strike on the city on 16 March. She was in a very serious condition: her internal organs were affected, and her bones fractured. The surgeons literally reassembled her right hand, and her leg was badly damaged. The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation provided complex medical treatment for 52-year-old Natalia and recently organized a rehabilitation course for her in a sanatorium in Zakarpattia.

Doctors advised Natalia to address the Foundation for help. The woman says that the Foundation called her back very quickly and helped to cover the cost of the surgery. After the most difficult stages of treatment, she spent a month at home, and then went for the rehabilitation course.

“I was informed that I was going to a sanatorium. I was very happy. Many thanks to the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. The attitude here is just great. I like all the procedures, each in its own way. We have got a result: the situation with my hand is better now, and with my leg it is just perfect. I could not go downstairs normally, but now I walk down with confidence. I don’t even notice it myself. In general, everything is very good here. No air alerts, no explosions, and there is fresh air. And the catering is delicious here...”, Natalia shares her impressions.

After what she experienced, she was able to find some strength and courage to see the scene of the tragedy in her hometown Kramatorsk again.

“I did not cry. I said, “Lord, thank you, dear.” After those holes from shell fragments that I saw around... There were pieces of metal there and a human body here,” says the woman.

After the rehabilitation and restoration of her limb functions, Natalia plans to resume her work for people. She admits that she is missing her work very much now. Doctors say that the driver will be able to return to her favourite occupation and work behind the steering wheel again.
