When signing the Ukraine Without TB Memorandum Rinat Akhmetov, the President of Foundation for Development of Ukraine and MP (Party of Regions) noted that citizens of Ukraine should consolidate efforts and effectively manage the battling process to combat TB.
 
Press office of the Party of Regions faction informs that Ukraine Without TB Memorandum has been signed in Donetsk today. This document regulates involvement of the government, business, and the public to the fight against TB epidemic. According to Anatoliy Zabolotny, Director of the Foundation, the Memorandum will serve as the basis for the national TB-fighting program.
 
In addition the provided information suggests that a regional anti-TB program will be launched in Donetsk region along with signing of the Memorandum. The Foundation officials say the organization will provide UAH 50m for prevention, detection, and treatment of TB in Donetsk region. “The same amount will be provided by the regional budget. Another UAH 16.5m will be provided by budget of cities located in Donetsk region”, informed officials.
 
Rinat Akhmetov believes that TB is a “national disaster”. “The infection can slam into any house, any family. Nobody is protected from it. We need to unite and, most important, effectively manage the battling process”, summed up the member of the Party of Regions.
