29 May 2007 Foundation for Development of Ukraine jointly with the UNIAN information agency  presented the project "UNIAN - Zdorovya" [UNIAN-Health], a health care information bulletin.
 
The project includes an information web-page at the UNIAN website (http://health.unian.net), as well as its electronic and print versions to be distributed free.
 
"We believe our role is to identify the health care problems and to make the public realize that they are the issues of the day. We will do our best for the mass media to get access to the most urgent and objective information. The only way to solve urgent health care problems is to draw attention of the public and to bring them into the area of social problems. Our information source is a kind of social request of the mass media to cover these problems: do raise the health care issues, tell about the real situation, encourage the responsible attitude of the public to the health," Anatoliy Zabolotny, Director of the Foundation for Development of Ukraine stated.
 
The expected users of the product are mass media, public health care organizations, medical universities, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Departments of Health Care of Regional and Local State Administrations and everybody else who is interested in the health care problems.  
 
The "UNIAN-Zdorovya" bulletin will provide access for the mass media to the online urgent information in this area, allow competent and comprehensive awareness of the most challenging problems. The experts will have the opportunity to be the first to know the events and tendencies in medicine, to share their opinions, and to discuss the most questionable issues in an open and democratic manner. Everyone may find any information he or she is interested in from one public source," Olexandr Kharchenko, the UNIAN Editor-in-chief, emphasized.    
 
The sections of the source include international, Ukrainian and regional medical news, statistical data, research results, issue-related columns, useful information, references, recommendations, announcements. 
 
The bulletin will be published every week, while the webpage will be updated in real-time. The product will operate in a test mode for the first month. Simultaneously, the users will be polled to see the relevance of the bulletin sections and necessity to amend them.  .
