RSS Akhmetov’s Foundation Starts Working on Dnepropetrovsk Blast Site

Today an Ad Hoc Coordinating Council of the Foundation for Development of Ukraine started working to help victims of the gas blast occurred on 13 October. The headquarters are located school No. 76 in 2, Mandrykovskaya street (2nd floor, room 12)

The decision to distribute UAH 1.6m of the allocated budget as a first aid to families affected by the blast was made at the first meeting of CC attended by the residents of the damaged house.


The money will be allocated as follows: each apartment of the 1st and 2nd blocks will receive UAH 5,000; residents of the 4th block will get UAH 10,000, and residents of the 3rd block –UAH 20,000. Personal accounts for victims will be opened today in Sberbank Ukrainy.


The Ad Hoc Council will control the proper use of the provided funds to ensure social justice of the help with due regard to the extent of the loss.


We will keep the public informed about every step of the Coordinating Council activity.


On 15 October, President of Foundation for Development of Ukraine Rinat Akhmetov donated UAH 10m to support all residents of 127, Mandrykovskaya Str. The families of killed people will receive UAH 5m of the amount. Another half will be shared by families that were left homeless.


SCM’s Corporate Foundation for Development of Ukraine is a non-profit-making organization founded by SCM Group on 15 July, 2005. The budget of the Foundation is financed by SCM. The areas of activity of the Foundation include contemporary education, health of the nation, and cultural heritage. Rinat Akhmetov is the President of the Foundation.
