On November 13-14 SCM Corporate Foundation for Development of Ukraine together with All Ukrainian "Coalition of HIV service organizations" are to hold the Second All Ukrainian Conference on national response to TB epidemic: 10 TB challenges and ways to overcome them.
 
The Round Table discussions will be held within the framework of the Conference; the slogan of the Round Table being "The actions taken and to be taken in response to every challenge". 
 
We are inviting to a constructive dialogue the representatives of:
 
the Cabinet of Ministers of the Verkhovna Rada, executives of the Ministry of Healthcare, the Ministry for family, youth and sports, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Finances, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, State Department for Execution of Punishment, National Institute of Phthisiology and Pulmonology named after Yanovskyy.
 
We hope that you are not indifferent to the problem of TB epidemic in Ukraine.
We don’t have any doubts as for your response to "10 key TB challenges" and participation in the Round Table.
 
 
List of 10 key TB challenges:
 
1. Low level of TB awareness among general population and "irresponsible attitude" towards own health and treatment.
2. Representatives of high risk TB groups (homeless people, drug-addicts, ex-prisoners, refugees, immigrants, representatives of national groups, etc.) have limited access to diagnostics and treatment services.
3. Anti-TB infrastructure does not meet the requirements of patients.
4. Imperfect and non-transparent anti-TB drug purchase planning system and supply system.
5. Problems of timely TB diagnostics.
6. Absence or lack of social services and social support system for TB infected people including high risk groups.
7. HIV/AIDS epidemic in Ukraine.
8. Spread of multi-resistant forms of TB.
9. TB in punitive institutions.
10. Absence of coordination in policies, programs, services and institutions at the national and regional levels.
Participants of the conference and accredited representatives of mass media will have a possibility to apply with questions to the officials.
