RSS Lvov, Burshtyn and Dobrotvor Join TV Medicine Social Project

Today, on 26 April, Lvov and towns of Lvov region accepted the offer of FDU and DTEK to join the TV Medicine social project implemented by MTS under the auspices of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The project objective is to create the all-Ukrainian TV medicine network to improve diagnostics and early detection of diseases, to enhance access to tertiary care and to reduce expenses on providing assistance to the population. After the medical institutions of Lvov region join the existing TV medicine network, the residents of Lvov city, Lvov region and its remote districts can get medical consultations with oncologists and cardiologists. The patients will have access to the consultations with the qualified specialists and access to the second opinion service. The doctors will be able to hold online conciliums, scientific discussions, etc.

 

As you know, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, MTS and the UN signed a memorandum of understanding on 1 October 2009. The project implementation is based on the use of the newest telecommunication technologies and MTS experience. The parties jointly plan to present the TV Medicine project in Ukraine in summer 2011.

 

Besides, Lvov City Council signed the declaration on social partnership with DTEK. The partnership is going to implement the TV Medicine project and support other social projects and initiatives in Lvov.
