In 2010-2011, Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for development of Ukraine will start cooperation with Rovno Cancer Dispensary to improve its radiological service. In particular, the Foundation is planning to purchase and install a linear accelerator for X-ray therapy. Currently, it is required for two thirds of the region’s cancer patients. In total, 17.3 thousand people are registered with such diagnosis. What’s important, the sickness rate in Rovno Oblast increases approximately by 2.5 % every year.

Now the Dispensary’s specialists are preparing documentation to hold a tender for the equipment supplier. In the nearest future, the Foundation jointly with the Dispensary and the Chairman of the Regional Administration will sign a Memorandum of Cooperation to define the obligations of the parties.

The regional radiological service is developed under the Foundation’s project Cancer Can Be Cured. Timely Cancer Diagnostics and Treatment.
