On the New Year Eve Foundation for Development of Ukraine provided technical support to presentation of gifts to sanatorium-type kindergarten No.5 with around-the-clock stay of TB-infected children (Makeyevka Town) from a private donor. Viktor Galayda has become the first person to show signs of responding to problems of children affected by tuberculosis. It is worth noting that he is the first private donor to join Regional TB Program.

Portable inhalers, a UV quartz lamp, ultrasonic essential oil spray equipment, an air ionizer, and a thermal bag have become a basic kit to make rehabilitation process effective for the children.

We asked Lyudmila Vepro, Director of the Kindergarten, to share impressions about the new equipment.

Please explain the differences between your kindergarten and other preschools?

- Our kindergarten is for designed for TB-infected children. Our kids are from socially unprotected families. We have a sanatorium-type kindergarten taking TB prevention measures.

How mane children are there in your kindergarten?:

- 105 kids.

Please tell us how a decision was made to turn to Foundation for Development of Ukraine?:

- Our teachers council discussed TB incidence and armamentarium of our medical office. In fact, it does have some equipment but it's far from being state-of-the-art.  That is why we made a decision to turn to Foundation for Development of Ukraine.
  
How did they do?:

- They equipped our medical office with equipment meeting all applicable TB prevention and treatment standards.

What does the kindergarten need? What challenges do you face now?:

- We would like to have more toys and furniture for our children.

Do you receive any support from the Government? Or from charitable organizations only?:

- In fact, we receive more from charitable organizations.
