On 1 June 2010, International Children’s Day, All-Ukrainian Online Adoption Portal Say No to Orphanhood, Tvoy Malysh magazine and Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine opened a See with Your Heart photo exhibition devoted to orphan children. The photo exhibition presented the artworks by five Ukrainian photographers: Darya Pavlova, Alexandr Indychiy, Anna Gordiychuk, Marina Karpiy and Dmitriy Larin. The photographers visited orphanages in different regions of Ukraine and expressed their emotions and vision of orphan children through the photos.

The exhibition’s objective is to draw public attention to the problem of orphanhood in Ukraine and to help those children make their cherished dream come true – find mum and dad.

Anatoliy Zabolotny, Director of Rinat Akhmetov's Foundation for Development of Ukraine: «The See with Your Heart project presents 50 photos, whereas in total there are 31, 000 children to be adopted. What we see is the photo album of our society. Do we feel happy looking at these photos? Will the children put these photos into their albums or will they rather erase childhood from their memories? ...  If one of these photos changes someone's life and moves to someone's home, if every day at least one child from www.sirotstvy.net is adopted by a family in every region, soon we won't have to fill the website with more and more children's profiles. Our public mission will be performed, then.”

It's not just an attempt to draw attention to the problem of children deprived of their parents and to pay more attention to those who need, who really need our help. That's why the most important thing at the moment is to make everything we can for the children deprived of families, to prevent the second wave of orphanhood, to prevent those children from repeating their parents’ mistake. We have to teach them to love!”

After the photo exhibition’s opening ceremony, orphan children had a chance to talk to and to sing together with their idols at the Karaoke with Stars party.

The exhibition is open from 1 to 10 June 2010 in Bottega gallery at the following address: Kyiv, vul.Mikhailovskaya 22b. Entrance is free.
