New Medical Equipment in Use at Luhansk Hospitals
The explosion in Luhansk hospital No 7 that destroyed the intensive care and pulmonology departments made other city's hospitals work hard. They accepted people injured in the explosion and the patients previously treated in the destroyed hospital No 7. To ensure normal operation of the departments, Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine provided the required equipment not only to the intensive care unit of city hospital No 4, as was previously reported, but also to the cardiology department of city hospital No 1 and cardiology centre of the destroyed hospital. These medical institutions have put into operation respirators for artificial and assisted lung ventilation, Holter monitoring system and cardiac defibrillators.
Intensive care and surgical monitors and ECG machines will be delivered next week. The purchased equipment cost over UAH 1 million. After the operation of the hospital No 7 has been resumed, all the supplied equipment will be handed over to the restored departments.
We remind that on 18 January the hospital No.7 in Luhansk suffered an explosion, which killed 16 people. Rinat Akhmetov, President of the Foundation for Development of Ukraine, in his address to the survivors and families of the casualties assured that the Foundation would take care of every survivor and every bereaved family. Currently the bereaved families and survivors are receiving financial assistance from the Foundation. The Foundation for Development of Ukraine has provided the total of UAH 2 million so far.
