Today, on 25 June 2009, Pirogovo Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life is holding a community work day to help the Museum upkeep the exposition. The drive has been initiated by the Ministry for Youth, Family and Sport, Under this campaign, Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine (FDU) bought young medical and aromatic plants for the Museum.

FDU has been supporting the Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life since 2008. Over this period, the Foundation has funded renovation of wind mills, fixed illumination system, repaired over 1,800 sqm of wooden roofs and water supply system and bought fire machines to protect the exhibits in case of fire. In 2008-2009, the Foundation allocated over UAH 4m to renovate exhibits and improve the infrastructure of the Museum.
