On 20 May 2009, the jury announced winners of The Best TB Dispensary Contest. Shakhtyorsk Municipal TB Dispensary took the first place. Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation presented the dispensary with UAH 50,000 to improve its operations facilities. The second place went to Kramatorsk Municipal TB Dispensary, the third was taken by Gorlovka Dispensary. These TB establishments received the prize of UAH 10,000 each.

The Best TB Dispensary Contest was initiated by FDU among 14 TB hospitals of Donetsk oblast.

The goal of the contest is to put TB problem on the spotlight, promote the profession of a TB doctor, improve the working conditions for medical staff and raise the level of treatment.

The contest was held by the Foundation under the programme "Fighting TB Epidemic in Donetsk Region in 2007-2011” together with the Head Office of Health Care Department of Donetsk Regional State Administration, representatives of the WHO Regional Office for Europe in Donetsk oblast, Department of Phthisiology and Pulmonology at Donetsk Medical University, the Regional Sanitary Department and the Regional Committee of Medical Trade Union.
