RSS On 19 May, June Taboroff, the leading international expert in culture development, will speak about the outlooks of cultural heritage in Ukraine and around the globe

The journalists will learn UK's experience in cultural management, as well as how to apply the global practice in Ukraine. For this purpose Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine invited to Ukraine Ms June Taboroff Hankey, an expert with extensive international experience. In 2008, Ms Taboroff assessed the cultural needs and helped develop the strategy within the European Neighbourhood Policy in the area of culture for five countries: Ukraine, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia.


On 19 May, Ukrainian media will have a chance to talk to the leading global expert in cultural heritage at a meeting of the Club of Social Journalism, as well as get the answers to the questions:


• Cultural heritage: what prevails - spiritual or economic factors?
• What are the common features of cultural heritage of Ukraine and UK?
• Why do Ukrainian museums differ from European ones?
• Who, how and why restores Ukrainian architectural sites?
• How to manage cultural heritage efficiently?


Leading Ukrainian specialists will cover these and many other issues. Agenda of the event and the list of delegates will be mailed out next Wednesday, on 13 May, and placed on the Foundation's website  www.fdu.org.ua

June Taboroff Hankey


Director of Studies for the programme Public Administration International (PAI).
June is an international expert in culture development, with broad experience of institutional development and cultural policy formulation in more than 30 countries. She works for the World Bank, the European Commission, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Unesco World Heritage Centre and lectures at the Institute of Archaeology in London and the University of Pennsylvania.  Most recently she was selected by the Clore Leadership Programme course for cultural leaders.  In addition to project and policy work, she also carries out evaluations of cultural heritage programmes.
