RSS Ukraine Consolidates to Fight TB

On 7 April 2009, the National Council to Fight TB and HIV/AIDS chose Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine as a potential Principal Recipient of the Global Fund's grant intended to fight TB. The Foundation nominated the Ministry of Public Health, State Department for Execution of Punishment, PATH, Ukrainian Red Cross Society, and International HIV/AIDS Alliance to manage the grant as sub-recipients. Consolidated efforts of governmental structures, NGOs and international organizations prove that Ukraine has a clear understanding of the threat gravity, especially amid the financial crisis. The Foundation is thankful to all partners and hopes that with such a line-up Ukraine will submit a high-quality application and will position itself as a strong team, which will be able to efficiently implement the Global Fund's TB program.
