Medications for Children: how to get this help?

2,948 sets of special medications were received by Donbas children who suffer severe chronic diseases. The medications were provided by the Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center as part of "Medications for Children" project.

"Medications for Children" project has been operating since fall 2015. Over the project implementation period young residents of Donbas received: 231 sets of insulin, 662 test strips to determine the level of sugar in blood, 1,115 sets of anticonvulsants and 940 packs of asthma medications", – Ihor Khadzhynov, the Head of "Targeted Assistance" program of the Humanitarian Center, shared.

This help can be received by all children under 18 living on the peaceful territory of Donbas, internally displaced children and kids living in non-government-controlled areas.

What diseases is the assistance provided for?

  • diabetes mellitus;
  • bronchial asthma;
  • convulsive and epileptic syndrome with the following diagnoses:
    • epilepsy (of any form);
    • cerebral palsy;
    • hydrocephalus;
    • traumatic brain injuries and their consequences;
    • central nervous system affliction;
    • encephalitis and meningitis (and their forms);
    • infections (of any form);
    • brain tumours (of any form).

How to get medications?

  1. call the Humanitarian Center's hotline 0-800-509-001 and leave an application;
  2. answer the call from the Center's employee to make clear what documents shall be provided and what pharmacy can the medicine be received at;
  3. receive medications in the pharmacy after presenting the required set of documents.

Where to get medications?

Medications are issued in the pharmacies of Artemivsk, Kramatorsk and Mariupol. By power of attorney medicine can be also received here by relatives or friends of the families with children, who live in non-government-controlled areas.

What amount of medicine does a child get?

Every child gets medications for three months ahead.
