Foundation for Development of Ukraine Grateful to People Fighting for Life of Korrespondent.net Deputy Editor-in-Chief Olga Baida
On 5 January, a misfortune happened to Olga Baida and her friends. Olga’s colleagues approached Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine for help. The Foundation did everything possible to save Olga’s life, however she tragically died on 9 January 2008.
We would like to express special gratitude to everybody, who helped:
- the medical staff of Verkhovinskaya regional hospital: senior physician Vladimir Pugalsky and Fyodor Tkachuk, who rendered first aid to Olga and her friends;
- the Governor of Ivano-Frankovsk oblast Nikolay Paliychuk, who provided major support to the rescue operation;
- Nikolay Oliyniychuk, first deputy-head of the Ivano-Frankovsk Oblast Healthcare Department, who provided medical support to the injured;
- acting head of resuscitation and anaesthesia department at the oblast hospital Ivan Vitonyak, who accompanied Olga from Ivano-Frankovsk to Donetsk;
- physician of Donetsk Gusak Burn Center Gennadiy Samoylenko, who arrived from Donetsk and accompanied Olga from Verkhovina settlement to Donetsk;
- the Land Command of Ukrainian Air Force, who promptly provided a military helicopter to transport Olga from the mountains to Ivano-Frankovsk;
- Lieutenant Colonel of the military unit А2595 in Brody city (Lvov oblast) Sergey Nedogibchenko and the members of his team, who went to Verkhovina settlement to rescue Olga despite severe weather;
- medical staff of Donetsk Gusak Burn Center: Emil Fistal, Vladidmir Noshchenko, Olga Prikhodko and all the staff of the centre, who fought to save Olga’s life;
The list of the people helping to save Olga’s life is long. Thank you all for response and readiness to help in the time of need.
