The Foundation for Development of Ukraine and Telekritika project have been realizing a joint annual program to ensure professional awareness of journalists from 700 regional TV channels since January 2008.

Under the partnership program the Foundation for Development of Ukraine provided 700 leading state-run and privately-owned regional broadcasting channels with an annual subscription to Telekritika magazine. The edition is the only professional mass medium that analyzes TV content from journalistic standards perspective.

Anatoliy Zabolotny, Director of the Foundation for Development of Ukraine, said: “We target to make the knowledge provided to the students of Digital Future of Journalism program more accessible to a wider circle of journalists. We are much obliged to Telekritika for their consent to launch the information project, where we can make many mass media aware of modern digital technologies, market trends, and fundamentals of management in the modern converged editorial work. We are not going to stop and will announce launch of new and interesting training programs for journalists soon”.

Nataliya Ligacheva, editor-in-chief of Telekritika project, said: "Digital Future of Journalism is an clear example of both social responsibility of big business but responsibility aimed to support the community – young journalists. They are our future. Their professional skills in future will affect greatly the effectiveness of communications between business and civil society. I am happy that lectures developed by western media underpin the training program. This enables young Ukrainian journalists to acquire the latest skills in technologies as well as understand better the logic of the ethical methods inspiring the leading international mass media. All together it may create a new powerful niche of professionals in the Ukrainian media empire that think and work in a new manner meeting demands of the 21th century.  We are happy to be a partner this important program launched by the Foundation for Development of Ukraine, and we take our joint project with much responsibility".

The program of Digital Future of Journalism was developed by the Foundation for Development of Ukraine under its contemporary education area of activity. In 2007 the Foundation invested $550,000 in implementation of the program being realized in partnership with NaUKMA. Its major goal is to teach digital technologies that will help alumni bring their editions to a higher level.

This year has also witnessed a kick-start of the information project realized jointly with Telekritika magazine. The project is expected to give Ukrainian journalists a chance to learn new skills from the magazine pages.
