The results of an in-depth research on TB in Donetsk oblast will be presented at 12:00 on 25 September 2008 in the conference hall of Donetsk Regional In-Patient TB Hospital. The survey was carried out by the Kyiv International Institute for Social Studies (KMIS) with support of Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine.

The survey helped reveal how important the TB issue is for citizens in Donetsk oblast, the level of their awareness of TB contraction ways and, danger to life posed by TB as well as the attitude of society towards TB infected.

The poll was held under the program Fighting TB Epidemic in Donetsk Region in 2007-2011. The results will be applied in the informational campaign to be realized by the Foundation for Development of Ukraine to enhance TB awareness of people as well as change their attitude towards the disease. TB can be cured. The epidemic can be stopped with support of well-informed society.

The poll results will be presented at 12:00 on 25 September, 2008 in the conference hall of Donetsk Regional In-Patient TB Hospital, 104-a, Illicha Avenue.
