 Presentation of First PhD Program in Ukraine and Launch of the Second Year of Studies under the Project "Digital Future of Journalism"

Presentation of the First Ukrainian PhD Program in mass communications will be held on 16 September, 2008. The program is a joint project of the National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA) and Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine.

 

PhD Program in mass communications is one of four PhD programs to be initiated by NaUKMA starting from October 2008. Students will be admitted until 19 September. The program targets to train scientific and educational staff with the highest education degree. The course will follow the third cycle of European Higher Education Area according to so-called Salzburg Principles. The PhD Program was initiated by Kiev Mohyla School of Journalism and Department of Sociology at NaUKMA with financial support of the Foundation for Development of Ukraine. The Foundation donated UAH 560,000 for the academic year 2008/2009.


The second year of studies under the Project "Digital Future of Journalism" will also be launched on 16 September.  The course focuses on the insight into modern digital technologies in new types of media. The project is being implemented by Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine, SCM and NaUKMA. The submission deadline is 19 September. The selection for the project will last from 20 to 30 September. The course of study starts on 6 October.
