Foundation for Development of Ukraine Presents House to Large Family
On 21 August, 2008 the Foundation for Development of Ukraine presented a house to the large family of Shamekov in Slavyansk Town (Donetk Region). The family is brining up 12 underage children.
The keys were handed over to the family by vice chairman of Donetsk Regional State Administration Yelena Petryaeva and Director of Foundation for Development of Ukraine Anatoliy Zabolotny.
The house was purchased by the Foundation under Warming a Child with Love project being implemented jointly by the government and businesses. The house with land lot costs UAH 827,000.
All in all, the Foundation for Development of Ukraine has purchased 20 houses for large families with over 10 underage children under the project. Altogether 44 families in the Crimea, Donetsk, Zakarpatye, and Luhansk oblasts are currently cared for by the Foundation. The Foundation has donated over UAH 17m to purchase new houses, as well as complete and overhaul the existing housings.
