Situation in Ivano-Frankovsk Region at 19:30

Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine keeps working in disaster-struck region of Ivano-Frankovsk. Joint efforts of the Ministry of Emergencies of Ukraine, military servants, the Verkhovinsk District Administration, Eurovision song contest winner Ruslana Lyzhichko, and representative of the Foundation Svetlana Panushkina helped cover all needs for food at five hard-to-reach villages of Verkhovinsk district with 2,957 inhabitants by air including:

Yablunitsa village – 1,508 inhabitants
Probiyne village – 362 inhabitants
Shibene village including frontier out-post – 319 inhabitants
Goloshine village – 402 inhabitants
Gramotne village – 366 inhabitants

According to Svetlana Panushkina, local authorities, military servants, and the Ministry of Emergencies of Ukraine are making incredible efforts to help people in cut-off areas left without food, drinking water, and ambulance service. So, a military helicopter flew several times to villages to save lives. In Gramotne village a mother of a baby, who had run out of baby food, asked the rescue team for immediate help. Once the helicopter returned to the base, representatives of the Foundation purchased all the necessary things and the helicopter took off in complicated weather conditions to fly at its own risk to the settlement and help the mother. The helicopter also transported to the same village the parents of two children that stayed with their granddad while adults were in the other region.

Food kits will be delivered tomorrow to other cut-off villages of Verkhovinsk district. The Ministry of Emergencies promised to provide another helicopter tomorrow as more settlements need help:

Topilche village – 182 inhabitants
Dzembronya village – 236 inhabitants
Berezhnitse village – 313 inhabitants
Golove village – 1,458 inhabitants
Zarechye and Verkhniy Yasenev villages – 300 inhabitants
Stebli village – 660 inhabitants
Dovgopole village – 1,332 inhabitants

Following request from the governor of Chernovtsy region, food will be delivered to Putilov Village where roads accesses had been destructed as well.
