The Foundation for Development of Ukraine was informed that all regions of Ukraine had experienced lack of the BCG vaccine for a month. The vaccine is used to prevent TB among new-borns and babies. We should note that the lack of vaccine threatens life and health of newborns, as this group is particularly susceptible to TB disease. 
  
     
The Foundation responded to the request from two regions to buy vaccine at the time when it was unavailable. This, in particular, concerns Donetsk and Rovno regions which have received 15,000 and 3,500 doses of vaccine. The Foundation has also conducted negotiations with the Ukrainian Ministry of Healthcare. It turned out that the vaccine bought by the Ministry was undergoing a quality testing. Today the vaccine has been delivered to the regions. The Foundation will continue monitoring the process of vaccine supply and is ready to provide necessary organization and financial assistance in this area. 
   
    
The Foundation for Development of Ukraine will carry on working to ensure access of TB infected patients to high-quality treatment. To this goal, the Foundation is implementing the project that monitors the quality of TB medicines used for TB treatment in Ukraine and will inform the public about its progress.
