Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine Passes First Keys To Large Family Under Program “Warming a Child with Love”

On 15 April, the Foundation for Development of Ukraine passed the keys to the first house bought under program “Warming a Child with Love” initiated by the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko.

A large family received keys to a new house from Vitalina Yushchenko, Head of National Charity Council under the program of Ukrainian President “Warming a Child with Love”; Anatoliy Zabolotny, Director of Foundation for Development of Ukraine; and Aleksandr Antipov, Head of the Regional State Administration.

The first house was given to Yaroshchuk family from Antratsit Town (Luhansk region). This family is bringing up 11 children. The family did not own a house before and rented a three-room house without proper conditions.

Vitalina Yushchenko, Head of National Charity Council under Program of Ukrainian President “Warming a Child with Love” said: "Taking part in this event means a great responsibility to me. This is one of the first campaigns of the National Charity Council. I believe that cooperation of the government and business will make a good tradition in Ukraine.

I am honoured to be a part of this important cause. I will be truly useful to people here! Moreover, making presents is always pleasant, especially when you give them to children. And this family has eleven of them! I looked at those children – they are excited and not used to be in the spotlight. I think the family will be really happy when we leave and they move into their new house.

We are going to hold these campaigns in all regions of Ukraine in the nearest future. And other large families will get houses they need so much.

As the head of the National Charity Council I would like to thank everybody who joined this good cause – the Foundation for Development of Ukraine and local authorities of Luhansk Region. Also, I would like to thank the President of Ukraine for having launched the project. This cooperation must be a good example to follow".

Director of the Foundation for Development of Ukraine Anatoliy Zabolotny shared his impressions: "The Foundation for Development of Ukraine has pledged to improve living conditions of 44 families with 10 or more underage children in the Crimea, Donetsk, Transcarpathian, and Luhansk regions. We met every large family, learnt their actual needs, major challenges, and problems.

For instance, the house we are passing today costs UAH 180,000. When choosing the facility, we took into account all desires of Yaroshchuk family – much land for farming, a well in the yard, and good light rooms.

The Foundation has developed and agreed project funding timeline to solve housing problems of all 44 families. It will lead to improving conditions of living of all families involved in the project with due regard to their needs and standards of living. The Foundation for Development of Ukraine will pass the keys to new houses to large families in the Transcarpathian and Crimea regions soon".

Aleksandr Antipov, Head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration, said: "The initiatives of the President of Ukraine under Program “Warming a Child with Love” are of major focus of the social support and protection activities rendered to large families by the Luhansk regional government. Implementing the initiatives we pay much attention to the families bringing up 10 or more underage children. In particular, a Memorandum on Cooperation was signed by the Regional State Administration and Foundation for Development of Ukraine on 8 February 2008. And Yaroschuk large family is receiving their own house as soon as today.
