Rinat Lyeonidovich Akhmetov, president
Born on 21 September, 1966 in Donetsk in the family of a miner, he graduated from the Donetsk National University (with a degree in economy majoring in marketing) in 2001. Mr Akhmetov has been the president of Shakhtar Football Club (Donetsk) since 1996. In 2000 he became the major shareholder of System Capital Management. Rinat Akhmetov has been a member of Ukrainian parliament of 5th and 6th convocations (since 2006). In 2001, he received the Ukrainian national award “Priznaniye” (Recognition) for a significant contribution to philanthropy. Rinat Akhmetov is an honorary citizen of Donetsk.

Natalia Izosimova, Chairman of the Board. Natalia Izosimova graduated from Moscow State Pedagogical University. After receiving her MA in English and American Literature, Natalia became an International Forum Coordinator at the UNESCO Commission for Culture in Moscow. Then she took up the position of Senior Editor in the magazine "Foreign Literature". In 1994 Natalia joined McKinsey & Company in Moscow as a Client Communications Manager. In 1998 she became Director of Professional Development, McKinsey & Company Eastern Europe. Natalya Izosimova was appointed HR-Director for SCM in January, 2005 and Director of Corporate Restructuring in July, 2005. Since 2007, Natalya Izosimova has been the managing director of Effective Governance Foundation founded by Rinat Akhmetov.

Vyacheslav Bryukhovetsky. Born in 1947 he graduated from Smila Food Industry Vocational School with a degree in engineering. Mr Bryukhovetsky worked at engineering plants in Smila, Cherkassy, and Odessa. In 1974, he graduated from Kiev Shevchenko State University with a degree in journalism. From 1973 to 1976 he headed the Critique section of Literaturna Ukraina newspaper. He was appointed Chief of the Literature Department at Shevchenko Institute of Literature of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences in 1980. Mr Bryukhovetsky is a Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Doctor of Philology, member of the National Academy of Science for UNESCO. He was awarded the Order of Merit of III rank in 1997 and numerous other national and international decorations. From 1991 till 2007, Vyacheslav Bryukhovetsky was the President of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy which he restored to life. Today it is called the National University Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA). He retired in 2007 and became Honorary President of NaUKMA.

Nikolay Nesterenko. Mr Nesterenko was born in 1976. He graduated from Donetsk State University with a degree in accounting and finance in 1998. He also holds an MBA from INSEAD, a leading European business school. In 1997, Mr Nesterenko started working in the investment sector – first as a trader, then as Chief of Trade Transactions, and in 2000, as General Director of Keramet Invest Company. Nikolay Nesterenko has worked for SCM since 2001. Initially the Head of the Finance Control department, he was appointed a senior manager for strategic development of several companies of SCM Group in July 2002. In 2002 – 2007, Nikolay was in charge of restructuring and management of foreign subsidiaries owned by SCM in Cyprus and Holland. Today Nikolay Nesterenko is Director of New Business Development. He is also CEO of SCM’s real estate company Esta Holding.

Jock Mendoza-Wilson. Jock Mendoza-Wilson graduated from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh with a degree in Economics. He began his career with Ford Europe before founding his own public relations consultancy in London where he advised some of the UK’s leading media companies and worked on litigation and public affairs issues. Prior to joining SCM he was Regional Director for eastern European public affairs and communications consultancy Mmd. Previously he was with Promoseven Weber Shandwick PR in Dubai where he was Regional Director covering the Middle East and North Africa. He has also advised US Government agencies on aspects of their public diplomacy programme in the Middle East region. He has extensive experience of developing communications strategies for leading global corporations, as well as instigating public affairs programmes to develop government and institutional relations.

Miroslav Popovich. Miroslav Popovich was born on 12 April 1930 in Zhitomir. In 1953 Mr Popovich graduated from Kiev Shevchenko University. Since 1956 he has been in the staff of the Institute of Philosophy of the Ukrainian Academy of Science. He has been the Director of the Skovoroda Philosophy Institute of the Academy of Science of Ukraine since 2001, and a Member of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine since 2003.

Boris Stinsky. Mr Stinsky was born in 1945. In 1968 he graduated from Perm State Medical Institute with a degree in medical care. From1968 to 1970 Mr Stinsky served as a registrar in a military hospital, and from 1970 to 1973 as a registrar in the traumatic surgery and orthopedy and field military surgery of Perm State Medical Institute. From 1973 to 1977 he held a position of the Chief Surgeon of Gubakh, Perm oblast. Since 1977 Mr Stinsky has been at the head of the Traumatic Surgery Department №1 of the municipal hospital №7 in Enakievo, Donetsk oblast. Mr Stinsky is an Honoured doctor of Ukraine, Doctor of orthopedy and traumatology of the highest category. People’s deputy in the Donetsk Oblast Soviet of I — II — III — IV callings (1990 — 2006). Honourary Freeman of Enakievo. Candidate of Medical Science. Honourary doctor of Ukraine.

Roman Vodolazsky. Roman Vodolazsky was born in 1975. Even before Mr. Vodolazsky graduated from Kherson State Technical University, he held the position of a chief accountant in several Ukrainian companies. After graduation he worked in the Financial Department of McDonald’s-Ukraine, and in the Audit Department of PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Kiev. The last position he held at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, before leaving the company in 2002, was senior auditor. After PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Vodolazsky joined SCM's metallurgical division, where he worked as a manager responsible for SCM's mining and metals assets: Azovstal Steel Plant, Yenakiyevo Steel Plant, and Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant. In February 2005, he was promoted to senior financial manager and in June 2005 was appointed CFO of SCM. Roman Vodolazsky holds an MBA degree from the leading European business school INSEAD (France) and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of Great Britain (ACCA).

Yuriy Voropayev. Born in 1955, he graduated from Kharkov Law Institute with a degree in law. Having completed military service, Mr Voropayev worked for two years in a Soviet District Komsomol Committee in Makeyevka (Donetsk Region). In 1979-1996, Mr Voropayev worked in the state security institutions. In 1996, he managed the Legal Department at the First Ukrainian International Bank and in 2003 joined the Legal Department of SCM. Yuriy Voropayev was Director of Voropayev and Partners Law Firm in 2005-2006. Since 2006 he has been an MP heading subcommittee on economic legislation of the Economic Policy Committee of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
