 Master-class for media Problems of Children's Cancer in Ukraine

The date of 15 February is the Childhood Cancer Day. To mark this day, Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine held a master-class for media Problems of Children Cancer in Ukraine designed for the Social Journalism Club. During the event, the parents, whose children have experienced this dreadful disease, spoke about the problems they’d faced. Representatives of the Ministry of Public Health, the Institute of Cancer and doctors talked about children cancer and future outlooks in the area, as well as answered the most frequent questions.


The list of speakers at the master-class included:


- Anatoliy Zabolotny, Director of Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine.


- Grigory Klimnyuk, chief part-time expert in children cancer, the Ukrainian Ministry of Public Health


- Svetlana Donskaya, chief part-time children haemotology expert, the Ministry of Public Health of Ukraine; Head of OKhMATDET, center for children haemotology and bone-marrow transplantation


- Yegor Korchenyuk, psychologist, Children Cancer Department, Kiev National Institute of Cancer; a magazine editor


- Larisa Lavrenyuk, general manager, KRAB Foundation for Children with Cancer


- Yelena Anapriyenko, Head of OKhMATDET, center of psychological and social rehabilitation aid.


- Tatiyana Dubinina, senior specialist, children medical aid unit, Department of Maternity, Childhood and Health Improvement, the Ministry of Public Health of Ukraine


- Victoria Mykolayuk, project manager, Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine
