About project "Targeted assistance"
Targeted assistance aims at providing immediate support to the people in need or emergencies. We support people, whose lives has been affected by a sudden misfortune or whose hopes and plans for the future have been destroyed by a disease or injury.
The Foundation provides targeted assistance and will carry on in this direction, seeking comprehensive solutions to root out the reasons of social problems.
The support is, first of all, provided to cover expensive and complex treatment courses, which cannot be totally funded by the state and the national budget.
We provide targeted assistance in line with the rules that ensure the maximum efficiency:
1. An expert committee considers every request in detail and seeks for alternative funding sources and the ways to address the problem efficiently.
2. The aid is allocated only on specific needs of the recipient.
3. Money is not given to the recipient. The Foundation helps provide necessary treatment or another help.
We help with all types of medical treatment, including treatment of children:
1. Rehabilitation of children with ICP and musculoskeletal malfunctions.
2. Rehabilitation after spinal marrow injuries
3. Surgical treatment of scoliosis.
4. Endoprosthesis replacement
5. Payment for operations and ophthalmology treatment
6. Treatment of resistant diseases (hepatitis, disseminated sclerosis, haemophilia, immunodeficiency, TB)
7. Surgical treatment of cardiovascular diseases
8. Hearing aid and cochlear implantations
Last year the Foundation sought to find new ways to support handicapped children. In June 2007, Seni company initiated a football tournament for them on Kiev Olimpiysky National Stadium. Sixteen teams from across Ukraine competed in the tournament, while the winners from Shevchenkovsky Orphanage took the second place at the international tournament in Poland.
So, the Foundation decided to support the tournament throughout this year too. The fifth Seni Cup Football Tournament for handicapped people was held on 28-30 May at Svyatoshyno sports camp. FC Shakhtar, technical partner of the project, presented tracksuits to all the participants. The winners also received footballs from Ukrainian champions. PHOTO>>>
