In 2008 the Fund of Rinat Akhmetov «Development of Ukraine» allocated funds to develop infrastructure of the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine and the restoration of individual museum exhibits.

Thus, during 2008 the museum was able to complete the replacement of electricity and water communications on its territory, to begin work on the construction of new excursion pedestrian walkway, to conduct restoration and reconstruction work in the exhibition facilities, which are required urgent intervention.

Due to lack of funding in the past few years, the museum could not afford to own the content of science and restoration workshop and, consequently, the time to carry out the necessary remedial and restoration work.

Since receiving financial assistance and administration of the museum decision on the need for urgent repair the museum's more than six months: a set amount of work that must be made immediately, a tender to select the best contractor. To this date the first phase of work is completed.

Replaced a large portion of water and electricity networks in the territory of the museum and a restoration of several objects exhibit, located in the most dangerous.

Employees of the museum note the positive cooperation aspects of government structure with a non-profit charitable organization, since almost all exhibit of the museum is located outdoors and at a fairly large area, and this automatically entails a corresponding level of care, early recovery and restoration work.

In 2009 continued partnership planned of fund and the museum, which means that visitors can fully enjoy as part of the exposition revitalized, so the benefits of new infrastructure.

OUR RESTORATION PROJECTS  

Windmill - village Vilshana (exposition «Kharkivska»)

Depreciation and carcass parts windmills has reached a critical threshold at which during the restoration work had to deal with all construction until the basement. Major work on the site referred to the full replacement shrouds carcass, which had to be replaced entirely, replacing part of the foundation, the restoration of some parts of the roof and wings, a partial replacement of walls cover.

Work on the site exposition addressed primarily fixes bug of previous restoration. In particular, was replaced by rocker, holding the wings of the mill on the carrier shaft. Last mistake was the choice of small cross-section parts that with the strong gust of wind, often resulting in the destruction of the construction of the wings. During the restoration of the old rocker replaced by other, larger cross-section, also regained their own mill and the wings of the cover walls.

Work on the two sites referred to the replacement of external elements of carcass, wings, and the internal working of the mill, beams, prefabricated, who came in a deplorable state because of the constant moisture. It should be noted the level of competence and responsibility of the contractor, in addition to the planned scope of work had been carried out a range of complementary, which became apparent only after the commencement of works.
