System Capital Management Launches Corporate Charity Foundation for Development of Ukraine
System Capital Management Group has officially launched the Corporate Charity Foundation for Development of Ukraine. The organization has been working for about a year and has already implemented and financed a number of interesting and important projects. In general specialists of the foundation have chosen several key areas of social charity: health care, education and culture.
Anatoliy ZABOLOTNY, Director of the corporate Foundation for Development of Ukraine: "Why these three areas? Making this decision we were trying to imagine what a citizen of the country should be like for the country to prosper, to join international community, to be competitive. And we made a conclusion that the person should be, beyond all doubts, educated. The person should be healthy and have a baggage, cultural baggage which is strongly connected to the country. That is why we decided to work in these three areas. We set a goal for ourselves - to support large-scale and minor projects, which will ensure for long-term, effective results for sustainable development of Ukraine".
"Charity has always played an important part in the SCM Group activities, but it was of more emotional nature", says the Deputy Chairperson of the Foundation Board Natalia Izosimova. "Now it is time to rethink the sponsorship rhetoric. The present level of development of the company allows to create a system, an accurately organized structure, based on the philosophy of System Capital Management - to help each individual person through raising the social status of the whole of the Ukrainian nation. When choosing the tactics of interactions with the beneficiaries SCM we renounced the traditional charity practice in order to introduce the mechanism of making investments in important and original social programmes". The company is planning to invest around 10 million dollars in social projects annually. Today the Foundation is carrying out three core programmes: "Health of the Nation", "Contemporary Education", "Cultural Heritage". A part of the later project is reconstruction of the Metropolitan’s Residence at the national cultural and historical site Sophia Kievskaya. 15 million hryvnas have been invested for implementation of this project.
