Donetsk Regional TB hospital has seen a grand opening of the conference hall that would be a part of the National Training Centre for TB doctors and host lectures for students of Donetsk Medical University as well as workshops and conferences to improve prestige of the TB doctor profession.

Repair and opening ceremony were carried out with technical support of the Foundation for Development of Ukraine. Director for the Foundation Anatoliy  Zabolotny said at the opening ceremony that TB fight in Donetsk region and Ukraine was the Foundation’s priority supervised by its President Rinat Akhmetov.

“I want not simply to fight TB but defeat it”, Mr Zabolotny quoted the President of the Foundation.

According to him, it is nearly an unparalleled case when a big business takes up overcoming the TB problem that almost nobody today deals with.

The repair was funded together with Donetsk Regional State Administration under the program “Fighting TB Epidemic in Donetsk Oblast in 2007-2011”. Funds allocated by the Foundation for Development of Ukraine amounted to UAH 154,868.96
