The Foundation for Development of Ukraine allocated UAH 10m to help victims of the gas blast in Dnepropetrovsk, the press-secretary of Akhmetov’s Foundation Elena Dovzhenko informed UNIAN.

Mr Akhmetov expressed his “sincere condolences following a big grief which suddenly broke into your families and took lives of relatives. The tragedy touched hearts of each of us and the heart of entire Ukraine. Our duty today is to stay side by side and support every family, every suffering person. We must help all victims without exception to regain confidence in the future as soon as possible and return to normal life”.

He said the Foundation for Development of Ukraine had decided to allocate UAH 10m to support all residents of the dwelling house № 127, Mandrykovskaya Str., Dnepropetrovsk. The families of the killed people will receive UAH 5m of the amount. Another half will be shared among families left homeless.

 
According to him, the Foundation jointly with local authorities, NGOs, and most importantly, with residents of the damaged house will start working to organize help to the victims as soon as tomorrow, on 16 October.

“Grieving over the killed people and helping those suffering, we must do everything possible to prevent such accidents”, said R.Akhmetov.
