Foundation for Development of Ukraine established by SCM Company is starting a new Internet-project ? Live Museum of Architecture. Anyone who loves the history of his city or who can hold a camera in his hands can get registered and become a participant of the project http://www.livearchitecture.org.ua.
To the words of Vlada Martynovskaya, the Project and Program Manager of the Foundation for Development of Ukraine, this is going to be the place where one can place the results of his/her patriotic creative art dedicated to native streets and houses: "The key goal of the project is to make the objects relating to the history and architecture of the cities of Ukraine available to any citizen of the country."
"And any city of Donetskaya Oblast, even the most industrialized one can become the "architectural Mecca": we want to avoid academic forms and stereotypes. Everyone knows that Lvov City is rich with historic monuments. However, Donetsk has also unique architectural objects ? for instance the Merchant’s Mansion in the city center or constructions of social realism epoch scattered all over the city", stated Martynovskaya.
To her words, "the works of photographers of any skills level are welcome ? these can be ancient architectural buildings or modern buildings, which will become a history in 20-30 years. And the main museum displays include photographs and literature stories. And they are not of usual encyclopedia style; they are really "alive": legends and personal opuses, which relate not only to a specific place but also to a specific person.
In addition, within the framework of the project any photographer will be able to participate in the photo competition of the same title "Ukraine. Country of live architecture". On the basis of the project results the project organizers will hold two photo exhibitions in Kyiv. One is going to be an intermediate exhibition to take place in fall and the second one, which will include the best works, is to take place in winter.
The most active project participants will be united in a team and invited to join regional studies expeditions to the most picturesque places-displays of the Live Museum of Architecture.
