Experience and perspectives of development of private and corporate charity in Russia and Ukraine
On November 24, 2006 founders and CEOs of Ukrainian and Russian private funds are to meet in Kyiv to discuss urgent charity issues in two neighboring countries and the world tendencies of charity activity: priority areas of the funds’ activity, creation of favorable conditions for their work and highlighting philanthropy in mass media.
Dmitriy Zimin, a founder of the Charity Fund "Dynasty" (the first private Russian Fund), the honorable president of OJSC "VympelKom" is going to share his 5 year experience in Russia and challenges faced by the fund. Olga Fedoseyeva, Director of SUAL Group Corporate Fund founded by a famous businessman with Ukrainian roots Victor Vekselberg, is going to talk about creation and development of the fund and new plans of the fund’s work in Ukraine.
Olga Alexeyeva, who was the Director of the CAF representative office in Russia and who runs CAF Global Trustees in London at present time, is going to present practical experience in creation and development of private and family funds as well as corporate responsibility programs in Russia and other countries of the world. Olga together with her colleagues provide assistance in development of charity programs to more than 60 largest companies of Russia and international companies such as "Shevron Teksako", "Alkoa", "Diajeo" and "Avon".
The round table was organized by the Ukrainian grantmakers forum, International Renaissance Foundation and British CAF (Charity Aid Foundation), which is one of the biggest European funds. Among the participants of the round table there are representatives of such Ukrainian funds as Victor Pinchuk Foundation, Foundation for Development of Ukraine, Klichko brothers’ Fund and other private and corporate funds as well as companies and public organization interested in domestic philanthropy development.
