Nicoletta Pavarotti, widow of Luciano Pavarotti, expressed a desire to cooperate with Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine to foster family building,

Nicoletta Pavarotti, who came to witness Donbass Arena Opening earlier this year, joined employees of Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine (FDU) to visit a specialized orphanage for HIV-infected children supported by the FDU. Ms Pavarotti was surprised to find there all facilities needed for proper development of children. However, she pointed out that no orphanage could replace a family. "Ukraine has very pretty and smart children", she said. “Now I understand why some of my friends go to Ukraine to adopt children".

Nicoletta Pavarotti has scheduled her next visit to Donetsk for December 2009.
