Fluoromobile Operates in Donetsk Oblast
Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine (FDU) has launched a mobile digital X-ray laboratory in towns and settlements of the oblast. The fluoromobile provides free lung screening without doctor prescription, Ukrinform reports.
The Fluoromobile was purchased by Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation under the Program on Fighting TB Epidemic in Donetsk Region in 2007-2011 to improve diagnostics of TB and other pulmonary diseases. High resolution of the digital X-ray unit will enable to diagnose TB, silicosis, tumors and other lung abnormalities at early stages. This will facilitate treatment and enhance its efficiency. Fluoromobile costs UAH 640,000. The mobile digital X-ray laboratory will start operating in Donetsk and then head to towns and settlements of the oblast. Working hours: 9-00 to 18-00; and 9-00 to 14-00 on weekends; Monday is a day-off.
Also, an individual boiler house has been launched at Ptashenya children’s home in Makeyevka. The facility was built by Makeyevka City Council (contribution of UAH 200,000) and Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for Development of Ukraine (contribution of UAH 112,000).
According to the FDU, the construction was initiated by Rinat Akhmetov on 19 December 2007, following a request of the children’s home staff.
