Donetsk Regional In-Patient Territorial Medical Association (DOKTMO) has received unrivaled laboratory equipment. No other state-run hospital in Ukraine can boast of similar facilities.

The equipment was donated to the diagnostic center by the Foundation for Development of Ukraine under the program “Cancer Can Be Cured. Timely Cancer Diagnostics and Treatment in Ukraine”.

“This is the latest generation equipment that can make immunology and biochemistry analyses in case of gastrointestinal, renal, cardiovascular and oncology diseases”, said Head of DOKTMO Tatiyana Bakhteyeva. Automated biochemistry analyzer Olympus AU-640 can make up to 800 tests per hour, and immunochemiluminometric analyzer "Immulite 1000" – up to 120. Being highly precise, the facilities can detect pathologies at a very early stage. Unfortunately, most patients get to know about their illness, when there is no chance for them to recover”.

“UAH 200m will be spent on the program, with UAH 100m to be allocated for Donetsk, UAH 50m – to the Kiev Institute of Cancer and another UAH 50m – to Western Ukraine for the development of cancer service there”, says Director of the Foundation Anatoliy Zabolotny. “We initiate deliveries of the most modern equipment to establish a strong system for cancer treatment and diagnostics in Donbass area as soon as in a year”.
